ABOUT STATESIR

Statesir instruments was founded by Chris Clark, a trained repair tech and builder from New Jersey. Chris began his career in 2016 after finishing training for fretted instrument repair. He immediately began working in music retail, repairing full time.

In 2019 Chris moved to the UK and has done repairs both freelance and with one of the UKs top music retailers. Shortly after moving to the UK he began building guitars and banjos and quickly developed a passion for the craft. He has a keen eye for detail and is often referred to as a perfectionist.

Chris is drawn to timeless, simple but eloquent instruments, and this is reflected in his own designs. He tries not to overcomplicate things and leans into the natural beauty of the materials he works with.

Chris is driven by his love and passion for music and instruments and above all builds because he loves doing it. His passion for building shines through in the finished products of his instruments.
